What stone size to pick?

Dear Arabel,
I really love your rings (particularly the Athena, White gold engagement ring) but I am finding it hard to decide what carat weight to go for. My partner does not wear a lot of jewellery so I am not sure where to start! What is the size of the stone in the image?
James, Brighton

Dear James,

Thanks for getting in touch, I am glad you love our rings!

In terms of diamond size, the ring in the image has a 0.4ct stone, for this style the 0.4ct and 0.5ct are the most popular but this ring is a classic and can suit most stone sizes! Do you know your partners ring size? If she is quite petite I would say you'd be safe to go for anything from 0.2ct to 0.5ct, if she has larger hands you might even want to consider something around the 0.5/0.75ct mark. We do not have this on the site at the moment but I would be happy to work out a quote for this for you if you were interested? If you can tell me the range you were considering I would be happy to send you a drawing of the rings with these different stones sizes for you to compare? Or if you would like the see the ring in person you are welcome to come and view our samples and look at few different diamond sizes first hand to give you a better idea?
