Commissioned as a thoughtful gift from one male friend to another, this ring was designed with the intention to surprise. When Arabel learned that the lucky recipient of this jewel was an art collector with a passion for beautiful craftsmanship, she recognised a high bar. In response, she designed this ring as a high-quality Damascene piece, employing a rarely-seen traditional Muslim artisan technique thought to originate in Damascus in the 8th century.
The ring was hand-crafted by inlaying oxidised iron with silver and scoring the intricate geometric design with a small stylus.
