BRAND ETHOS: Changing the world, one gram of gold at a time

We know jewellery can serve as an active vessel for social, political, environmental and economic change. When created with purpose and care, jewellery has the power to redistribute wealth more fairly through supply chains, champion human beings and their legacies, knowledge and skills, and foster gratitude for the extraordinary natural materials once offered up to us by Mother Nature.

For us and our clients, this is jewellery to feel truly proud of. Envisioned by artist, creative activist and award-winning jewellery designer Arabel Lebrusan, our jewels encapsulate inspired, ornate design, traditional craft techniques and story-telling materials.

Beautiful design

From a Gemmology degree to a BFA in Fine Arts, an eye-opening foray into the world of fashion jewellery, an MA in sustainable jewellery design, the first ever ethical jewellery boutique on London's prestigious Sloane Street, an award-winning jewellery design studio and an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Arts... The brain behind our designs, Arabel Lebrusan walks the intersection between visual arts, inspired by a rich tapestry of life experience and cultural references.

At Lebrusan Studio, we create milestone jewels with the intention of timelessness. These engagement rings, wedding bands, unique bespoke commissions and art jewels forgo trends, instead championing symbolic detail and the unique qualities of the precious materials at hand. Our collections encapsulate organic nature-inspired motifs, delicate forms, ornate band engravings achieved entirely by hand, tonal gemstones in fancy cuts, allusions to the Art Nouveau and Art Deco design periods and homages to Arabel's Spanish roots.

Beautiful craftsmanship

Time-honoured craft techniques underpin Lebrusan Studio’s entire portfolio of jewels, created exclusively in the UK. Conceived first by Arabel and her accomplished team of visionary designers, each piece is finished in London's Hatton Garden by skilled craftspeople who specialise in their particular stages of the process - from polishing to hand-engraving and gemstone setting.

Lebrusan Studio’s collections are a showcase of intricate hand-engravings, each totally unique by nature. From florid vines to ornate scrolls and romantic heart motifs, these painstakingly hand-scored designs are reflective of the brand's passion for reviving heritage and championing traditional craft. Arabel Lebrusan believes that human beings are the most valuable vessels for knowledge and skill. People like Darren, the master craftsman behind the hand engravings, are vital links in the chain that ensure centuries of history are passed on from one generation to the next.

Beautiful ethics

We are simultaneously concerned with the limits of our Planet and the needs of the human beings who inhabit it, recognising both strands of 'ethics' as equally important. As such, we offer a carefully selected pool of material options, either active in socioeconomic benefit or minimal in environmental impact. Our clients are people who care, and we wish to grant them the freedom to create jewellery that truly aligns with their ethical standpoints.

An opportunity to minimise one's carbon footprint, our recycled gold, platinum, diamonds and sapphires are available to create new from old, starting new chapters without the need for any further mining. Likewise, we actively promote circular design through our bespoke remodelling service. Meanwhile, traceable options like Fairtrade Gold, Fairmined Ecological Gold and artisanal Ocean Diamonds are an opportunity to better distribute wealth down jewellery supply chains, championing small-scale miners and their communities, and ensuring that the benefit of a purchase is felt by them, too.

As an ethical business, we know the scope of our responsibility extends beyond the simple act of creating ethical products. We want to put our money where our mouths are, so we also engage in charity work. Every quarter, we donate a fixed sum to The Water Project's programmes in Sierra Leone, a country historically decimated by civil war, human rights abuses and environmental destruction at the hands of the diamond trade. With the help of One Tree Planted, we also plant 10 new trees in the Andes for each piece of jewellery sold.
