Our Founder & Head Designer Arabel Lebrusan has now collaborated with Swarovski on a number of one-off art creations - but this was her first. Created for the World Land Trust, in collaboration with Liberty of London, this jewel was designed to celebrate one of the World Land Trust's protected sites. Collectively, Arabel and Swarovski selected Kites Hill in the Cotswolds, UK. Originally a farm, Kites Hill's beautiful woodland, meadows, scrub and hedgerows are now protected to allow endangered British species to flourish.
The Hill has become well-known for its growing population of beautiful tortoiseshell butterflies; a small, Eurasian species with colourful, vividly-marked wings. It's these very wings that inspired this magnificent pendant, lovingly hand-set with Swarovski crystals in London's Hatton Garden.
The pendant was displayed in Liberty of London, and subsequently sold to a collector at a private event there. You can learn more about Arabel's design achievements over the years here.
