Brand History - Arabel's Passion

A Fine Arts graduate and gemmologist, Spanish-born Arabel Lebrusan spent several years living and breathing ethical jewellery before touching down in London to study an MA in Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins in 2015.

Graduating in 2007, Arabel became Creative Director of Leblas Jewellery, Sloane Street's very first ethical jewellery boutique. Here, she further cultivated her passion for sustainability and all things Fairtrade, working with master craftsmen to create unique jewellery, using only Fairtrade Gold, recycled metals and ethically sourced gemstones.

One of the first UK designers to hold a Fairtrade Gold licence, Arabel stayed at Leblas for two years to perfect her skills, before deciding to go exclusive and create her own range of jewels. What began as a fledgling project, launched from her kitchen table in Bedford in 2012, has become a leading ethical jewellery brand that's synonymous with fair practise.

Producing her work for a wholesale market initially, Arabel soon recognised increasing demand for a much more personal approach. Today she deals directly with her customers, often one-to-one, creating exquisite ready-to-wear and one-off bespoke pieces that are stunning in every respect; Jewellery that's beautiful both inside and out.

Nearly eight years later, Arabel employs an energetic team of three, who each share her passion for beauty in design, craftsmanship and ethics.

When she's not designing future heirlooms, Arabel's busy campaigning for change. A leading voice for the ethical jewellery cause, her insuppressible energy and tireless contribution has been acknowledged with a long list of awards and accolades, including UK Jewellery Designer of the Year 2017.
